The portal depicts the Gulf of Sapri and Saints Vito, Francis of Paola and Gaspare Bertoni, linked to the town’s religious history.

The façade’s side turrets were added in the early 1900s compared to the 18th-century core.

The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Sapri’s Mother Church, is documented to 1730. The three-aisled interior with round arches preserves two 1876 canvases by Carlo Scognamiglio (Immaculate Conception and Nativity) and a ceiling painting of the Immaculate on the wooden coffered ceiling signed E. Buccino (1876). The bronze portal, by Prof. Carucci, was installed in April 1983 by the Stigmatine Fathers.
