The Franciscan Elizabethan Sisters (Bigi) were founded by Saint Ludovico da Casoria in 1862.

Local sources recall Cesarino’s bequest to the town and the 1925 inauguration of related buildings (Church of Santa Croce and the Specola).

Historic early-1900s building commissioned by Cav. Giuseppe Cesarino and donated to the community. For decades it was run by the Franciscan Elizabethan Sisters (Bigi) with welfare activities. Today it is part of a public enhancement path: since 2022 it has been loaned to ASL Salerno for new healthcare services.
